Lee Birkinbine

LeLand David Birkinbine, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 27, 2024, at his home.

Lee was born April 28, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to David Franklin Birkinbine and Lucille Elizabeth Swearingin Birkinbine. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.

On March 19, 1960, he married Susan Elaine Phillips in Idaho Falls. Susan passed away July 17, 1995. On January 11, 1997, he married Shaunna Robbins. Lee and Shaunna started Options Inc., a special needs facility. Shaunna passed away April 15, 2005, at home.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his brothers and other family members. He enjoyed traveling and seeing the splendors of life.

Lee is survived by his daughter, Tammy Birkinbine of Idaho Falls; son, Brad (Maureen) Birkinbine of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Scott (Akela) Birkinbine of Ketchikan, AK; brothers, Greg (Ann) Birkinbine and Brent (Lisa) Birkinbine; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wives.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Options Inc., 570 S. Woodruff, Idaho Falls.
