Leatha Sproul Neilson, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 22, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice and her loving family.
Leatha was born December 6, 1947, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Kenneth Malcolm Sproul and Clenna June Jackman Sproul. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot and graduated from Snake River High School in 1966. She also attended Ricks College and BYU where she studied accounting.
She was blessed with five children whom she dearly loved and was loved by in return.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leatha loved music and enjoyed crocheting, baking, cake decorating, and reading books.
Leatha is survived by her children, Amy (Brian) Grussendorf of Evansville, WY, Angela (Chris) Keller of Idaho Falls, ID, Michael (Katie) Neilson of Santaquin, UT, Aaron Neilson of West Jordan, UT, and Sara (Jeremy) Ball of Idaho Falls, ID; four sisters, Janet (Robert) Burnside, Reva (Keith) Clark, Sue (Bob) Athay, and Jackie Sproul; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marilyn Anderson and Gertrude Ann Pruden; and two brothers, Don Sproul and Jerry Sproul.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Wride officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
