IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Leah Christensen Rigby, 90, of Idaho Falls, died June 21, 2009, at Life Care Center.
She was born September 3, 1918, in Downey, Idaho, the fourth of six children and a twin born to James William Christensen and Agnes Maria Christiansen. She attended school in Downey and was Valedictorian at Downey High School. She attended two years at University of Idaho, Southern Branch, in Pocatello, and earned her Associates Degree.
On July 5, 1941, she married Rex J. Rigby in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 20, 1942. She and her husband dairy farmed in Alta, Wyoming, also Clawson and Monteview, Idaho. They retired to Idaho Falls in 2001. Rex passed away August 11, 2003.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as President of Young Women and Relief Society, and as a teacher in the Primary. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family, doing weekly extractions and temple work for the church, crocheting, embroidering and gardening.

Son: James (Terri Dawn) Rigby of Monteview, ID
Son: Kris (Holly) Rigby of Sinclair, WY
Son: Steven (Debbie) Rigby of Grace, ID
Daughter: Terri (Lance) Toone of Idaho Falls.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Letha Gilbert of Hamilton, MT
25 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 37 step great grandchildren, and 1 great great step grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex J. Rigby, a daughter, Cheryl, two sisters, Carmen and Ellen, two brothers, William Scott and Stanford Wayne, and a grandson, Gary Wayne Rigby.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 – 2nd Street, with Bishop Larry Haws officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Pratt Cemetery at Alta, Wyoming.
