Leah Empey Molen, age 96, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, formerly of Ammon and Idaho Falls, passed away February 10, 2012, at Norwood Hospital Extended Care in Edmonton. Leah was born October 23, 1915, in Ammon, Idaho, to Alonzo Ernest Empey and Olive Adaline Mitchell Empey. She grew up and attended schools in Ammon. Leah married Reed Randolph Molen in 1936 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Leah was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked in the Ammon School Lunch program and at various other places after Reed’s death in 1968. Leah lived in Ammon until later in life, when she moved to Idaho Falls. In 2001, she left Idaho to make her home in Canada with her youngest daughter, Ann. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are: Daughter: LeaRae (Quade) Hansen of Orem, UT; Daughter: Sherri Lynn (Kay) Storme, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; Daughter: Barbara Ann (Eugene) Wise of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; Brother: Ferron Empey of Boise, ID; Sister: Lois (Lee) Shelton of Idaho Falls, ID; 8 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reed, three grandchildren, two sisters, Norma Faust and Twila Suitter, four brothers, Rulon Empey, Worth Empey, Sheldon Empey, and Melvin Empey. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop David Shelton, her nephew, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood East Side. Burial will follow in the Ammon Cemetery.
