Layne Demott

Biography

Layne M. DeMott, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 26, 2013, at his home. Layne was born June 9, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Mark LaVee DeMott and Bernice Margaret Anderson DeMott. He grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1974. He was married three separate times to Tammy Asbury, Robin Grimmett, and Cindy Woolf. Through those unions he was blessed with three children. He was a “jack of all trades” and was especially gifted in carpentry. He was a self-proclaimed comedian. Like his father, his heart and soul was in music. Layne enjoyed spending time at his cabin camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his son, Kenny DeMott of Idaho Falls, ID Son, Ryan DeMott of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter, Amber (Chet) Bergeson of Idaho Falls, ID Brother, Kyle DeMott of Idaho Falls, ID Sister, Sherrie (Reed) Thorpe of Blackfoot, ID and 2 Grandchildren, Dawson and Jordyn He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Bernice DeMott and a sister, Marva DeMott. A Gathering will be held from 3-5 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. A Wake will be held at a later date.
