Lawrence Yule

Lawrence Frank Yule, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 28, 2011 at his home. He was under the care of OneSource Home Health Care. Larry was born June 30, 1928 in Denver, Colorado to Joseph Lyle Yule and Geneva Oral Tower Yule. He grew up in Denver and graduated from North High School. He continued his education at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He earned his master’s degree in Industrial Arts Education and worked as a school teacher in Phoenix, Arizona. Larry served his country in the United States Navy as a Seaman during World War II. On September 1, 1951, he married Carol Jean Ferrell in Phoenix, Arizona at the Central Methodist Church. Together they raised three children. Larry lived the greater part of his life in Arizona and moved to Idaho Falls two years ago to live with his Idaho family. Larry was previously active at Central Christian Church in Phoenis, and later became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved playing tennis, raising birds, woodworking, making jewelry, square dancing, and constructing his own homes. Leaving behind a loving family by his side, our “Papa” surrendered this life to eternal life. We are left with many great memories of Papa’s gentle strength, his sense of humor, and his selfless service to his family and all who quickly became his friends. Survivors include his children: daughter, Carla Jean Yule of Denver, Colorado; son, Mark Alan (Mary Beth) Yule of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter, Diana Rene (Lloyd Eric) Davis of Idaho Falls, ID; 11 Grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and two brothers, Donald Yule and Robert Yule. A private family service will take place at a later date in Arizona.
