Lawrence Lenz

Lawrence Herman Lenz, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 13, 2018, at his home. Lawrence was born August 7, 1943, to Herman and Marie Ronfeld Lenz in Ashton, Idaho. He graduated from Bonneville High School and farmed and raised cattle in the Lincoln area. He married Donna Bowen in 1970, and raised they two children, a son, Stacey, and a daughter, Nicole. The family continued their farm and ranch life, later buying a farm south of Idaho Falls. In 1988, they sold their farm, and Lawrence begin working for Friedman Bag Company and then at Cal Stores Distribution until he retired. Lawrence missed the farm, but his real passion was the cattle and horses. He continued to raise a few head of cattle and always had a horse or two. Lawrence was a member of the Bonneville Chariot Association. He raced the chariots and ran flat track horses. He loved to rope and ride, and raised, showed and drove Clydesdale horses. Lawrence's real love was his family, which he was very proud of, and never missed a chance to brag on. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Donna of Idaho Falls; son, Stacey (Laurie Cooper) Lenz of Caldwell, ID; daughter, Nicole Lenz of Idaho Falls; granddaughter, Hailey Lenz of Nampa, ID; grandson, Dakota Lenz of Nampa, ID; siblings, Leona (Fred) Nelson of Firth, ID, Eddie (Sue) Lenz of Ashton, ID, and Ellen (Ray) Mullen of Soda Springs. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Rose Hill Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Billman's, 3910 S. Yellowstone, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
