Lawrence “Larry” Gene Zaroban, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 2, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and church family.
Larry was born September 23, 1956, in Valentine, Nebraska, to Donald Gordan Zaroban and Betty Jane Cherry Zaroban. He came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior during his teenage years and became a true prayer warrior. He grew up and attended schools in Valentine and graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University in 1980, earning a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education with a minor in grammar, where he also met a girl there.
On July 10, 1976, he married Sharon "Sherri" Ruth Jeffries in Lakewood, Colorado. Larry and Sherri made their home in Arvada, Colorado, where Larry worked as a teacher for 33 years. There, he and Sherri owned A Child's Reflection Daycare Center for 27 years.
He coached basketball for eighth graders, Junior Varsity, and Varsity boys for 24 years. He loved to fish, never missed a Nebraska Husker football game, and most recently their volleyball games.
Larry was a member of the Nazarene Church in Lakewood, Colorado, for 30 years until they moved to Idaho Falls to be with grandkids, where he attended Christ Community Church for ten years.
Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heidi (Chris) Duran of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Richard Zaroban of Olathe, KS; brother, Don Zaroban of Boise, ID; sister, Jean Zaroban of Princeton, NJ; and 4 grandchildren, Jace, Xander, Emma, and Myah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherri Zaroban; and son, Jeremiah Zaroban.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Christ Community Church, 5742 South 5th West. Inurnment will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
