Lawrence "Earl" Jenkins

Lawrence Earl Jenkins, 66, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 30, 2023, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Earl was born January 2, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jay Charles Jenkins and Beverly H Johnson Jenkins. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended ISU.

On June 5, 1980, he married Laura Lydean Ruiz in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

At the age of fourteen Earl started working construction with his dad, Jay, at what would later be known as Jay and Earl Jenkins Construction. After his dad retired, he started his own company L. Earl Jenkins Construction.

Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, anything outdoors and loved the mountains in particular. He enjoyed playing pool when he couldn't get outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones. especially his grandkids.

Earl is survived by his wife, Laura Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID; his sisters Permilla Ann Barker of Idaho Falls ID and L Marie Nesbit of Idaho Falls, ID; his brother John (Virginia) Jenkins of Farmington, UT; his daughters Tiffaeny Jones Theide of Idaho Falls, ID; Alicia Jones of IdahoFalls, ID; Taycia Grasmick of Boise, ID and Jamie (Brian) Walsh of Port Orchard, WA; 14 grandkids, 1.5 great grandkids and dozens of foster kids.

He was preceded in death by his father Jay, mother Beverly, brother Charles, sister Jacqueline, and son Rodney Frank Creasey.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Lorin Pack officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior.
