LARRY G. FRENCH
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Larry G. French, 81, of Ammon, passed
away at his home, October 15, 2003. He was under care of Hospice of Eastern
Idaho.
He was born December 28, 1921, in Clarksville, Texas, to
Gilbert French and Martha Rainey French. He grew up and attended various
schools in Arkansas, and High School in Kaiser, Arkansas.
He served in the CCC before joining the Army. He was staioned
at Pierce, Idaho where he learned to love the forests in Idaho. He then
served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He married Rose Marie Wilson October 18, 1945, in Seattle,
Washington.
He worked as a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator,
working on various buildings, including Idaho Falls High School, the Sacred
Heart Hospital and the Palisades Dam. He started work at the AEC Site in
1950 doing construction, and for Phillips Petroleum from 1963 until his
retirement in 1984. He was a member of the OCAW Union.
He loved working on his old cars; he owns 3 antiques. He
also enjoyed caring for his garden and lawn.

Son: Gary L. (Julie) French, Tensed, Idaho
Daughter: Kathy (Randall) Maughan, American Falls, ID
Son: Greg W. (Terri) French, Idaho Falls, ID
15 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and 2 brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October
18, 2003, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road.
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to
the services. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made
to The Idaho Falls Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund, 1098 June Avenue,
Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83404.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery with Military Rites
performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team. Services are under the
direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
