OBITUARY INFORMATION Larry Campbell Lawrence Alvin “Larry” Campbell, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away on May 1, 2012, at Madison Memorial Hospital. He was born April 22, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Alvin Campbell and Ora Josephine Anderson Campbell. He grew up in the Milo area, graduating from Ucon High School. He served as a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Larry continued his education by attending Utah State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry. On November 12, 1954, he married Luella “Lou” H. Parkinson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Following his military service, Larry and Lou lived in Cody, Wyoming before moving to the Ucon/Milo area where he farmed. He was an accomplished horseman and owned Campbell’s Riding School. He also owned and operated Finishing Touches Interior with his wife. Larry was a member of the Iona Lions Club and Spring Fever Quarter Horse Association. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in numerous callings including officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, Bishop of the Milo 2nd Ward and Counselor in the Presidency of the Ucon LDS Stake. Larry enjoyed horses, farming, snow skiing, livestock, and horseback trips. In 2006, Larry and Lou were inducted into the Eastern Idaho Horseman Hall of Fame. He especially loved his family and spending time with them. Survivors are: Wife: Lou Campbell, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Scott (Cindy) Campbell, Thomas, ID Daughter: LuAnn (Steve) Tippets, Vancouver, WA Son: Bruce (Kathy) Campbell, Hinton, IA Son: Jed (Jennifer) Campbell, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Joni (Adam) Hoopes, Yakima, WA Sister: Eunice (Ken) Crellin, Salt Lake City, UT 28 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Campbell. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2967 E. 105 N, with Bishop Allan Johnson, of the Milo Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Saturday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
