Lawrence Jay Brown, 88, who went by his middle name "Jay", passed away in his home, on April 21, 2026.

Jay was born in Rigby, Idaho, August 14, 1937. He was born to the late Lawrence William Brown "Lolly" and Ada Anderson Brown. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy McCracken of Salt Lake City, Bonnie Cromwell of Idaho Falls; brother, Don Brown of Idaho Falls and his children, Russell and Troy Brown of Idaho Falls. Jay's oldest sister, Lois Parker, was waiting to welcome him in Heaven.

Jay was a farmer, he worked with his father for several years on the farms in Canada but returned to Idaho Falls in the late 60's to farm out west of Idaho Falls for 40 years.

Jay married his first wife, and mother to Troy and Russell, on May 20, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Colleen passed away August 11, 1996, in Salt Lake City. Jay met Meredith Briggs at the singles ward in Idaho Falls and they were married December 7, 2003. Meredith passed away August 3, 2024, in Idaho Falls.

Jay enjoyed farming and the outdoors but most of all his family. He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church and served 2 missions. His first mission, at the age of 18, was in Arizona at the Navajo Reservation, where he learned to speak Navajo fluently. He went on his second mission with his wife, Meredith, and they served in Salt Lake at the Temple.

Jay will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday May 7, 2026, at the Idaho Falls Brentwood Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior at the church. Private family burial will take place in Salmon the following day.
