Laverne Clark

LAVERNE CLARK OGDEN, UT -- LaVerne Martha Clark, 81, died peacefully on September 5, 2008, in Ogden, Utah. She was born October 28, 1926, in Crocket, California, to Martha and Leslie Lingren. They later moved to Idaho Falls, where she grew up, attended Idaho Falls schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She filled a full-time LDS mission in Montana. After returning, she worked as a receptionist and secretary to the recorder of the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. On June 4, 1965, she married Arnold Edwin "Buzz" Clark in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They moved to Minnesota, where she was a homemaker and helped him on the farm. She was blessed in April, 1968, with the birth of her only child, Thomas Arnold Clark. Both LaVerne and Buzz enjoyed their time being parents and teaching Tom about farm work and life's lessons. She started working as a library aide for the St. Francis Schools and enjoyed being around and helping the children. She lost her husband in 1979 to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and worked hard to be the best mother for Tom. Thanks to good neighbors, friends and church members for all their help. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings in the church throughout her life. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and planting flowers, loved to cook (and was a great one) and loved horses. She especially enjoyed playing softball. She touched the lives of everyone who came in contact with her. She radiated the true love of Christ and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her son, Thomas, his wife, DeAnn, and three grandchildren, Taylore, Daniel and Cody, all of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Vera June Williams and Elaine McChesney of Idaho Falls; and a brother, Clinton Lingren and his wife Sharon of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, a brother Robert, two brothers-in-law, Joel Williams and Sam McChesney, and her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from10 to10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home. Services will also be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Anoka LDS Chapel in Anoka, Minnesota. The family will visit with friends Sunday at Dare Funeral Home in Elk River, Minnesota, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Anoka Chapel prior to services. Burial will be at the West Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Frances, Minnesota next to her husband. ---------------------------------------------
