LaVeda Arlean Fann, 87, passed away January 25 at Lily and Syringa Assisted Living Center. She was born September 14, 1924 in Rigby, Idaho, to David Fox Jr. and Maryetta West Fox. She attended school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Shelley High School. She married Nick LaVier DeFilippis in 1942 and they had four children, Nick Elvin, Roy David, V. Arlean (Dootzie) and Tony Don. They were later divorced. She married Robert E. Fann in June 1962 in Butte, Montana. She was a homemaker and a mother and worked outside of the home as a waitress and flag person for several construction companies. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Fann of Idaho Falls; Son, Roy David (Diane) DeFilippis of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Arlean “Dootzie” (Robert, deceased) Peterson of Rigby, ID; Son, Tony Don (Glenda) DeFilippis of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Kim Eugene Fann of AK; Brother, Marvin Dean Fox of Mesa AZ; Brother, Charles Vernon Fox of Mt. Home, ID; 18 Grandchildren and 39 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Nick Elvin DeFilippis, a brother, Derl Fox, two sisters, LaVenda McMurtrey and Vermont Fistolera, a son-in-law, Robert E. Peterson, and a grandson, Kenneth (PeeWee) Clark. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
