LaVAUN RICKS
IRWIN, ID -- LaVaun Molly McKay Ricks, 90, of Irwin, died
April 7, 2005, at Riverview Residential & Senior Daycare in Idaho Falls.
She was under the loving care of the caring staff at Riverview Care Center.
She was born November 8, 1914, in Irwin, Idaho, to William
Edgar McKay and Nellie Fleming McKay. She grew up and attended schools in
Irwin.
She married Reed Crandall Ricks April 20, 1934, in Idaho
Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple January
5, 1963. They made their home in Irwin, where she was a homemaker and mother.
She was also the Assistant Postmistress in Irwin and owned the Mountain View
Trailer Court. Reed passed away August 8, 1989.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served as a Primary teacher and Relief Society teacher. She loved
spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed feeding everyone
who walked into her home.

Daughter: Helen Janettee (Warren) Nisson, Gooding, ID
Daughter: Nancy Ann (Don) Nellesen, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Darrel Reed (Penny) Ricks, Swan Valley, ID
Brother: Ed (Betty) McKay, Othello, WA
11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Dean William Ricks, two brothers,
Archie McKay, Arthur McKay, and three sisters, Agnes Jacobson, Eva Jacobson,
and Wilma McKay.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 11,
2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with her grandson, Allen Nellesen,
officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:30 to 1:45
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
