Lauro Valdez - 02/04/2003 Lauro Valdez - 02/04/2003 LAURO VALDEZ IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lauro Viramontez Valdez, 55, of Idaho Falls, died February 3, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a lingering illness. He was born June 9, 1947, at Santa Monica, California, to Mr. & Mrs. Lauro Valdez. He grew up in Santa Monica, California, and attended Los Angeles public schools. He later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended trade school to become a welder. He worked as a maintenance man, and in construction. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and had been a professional baseball trainee in his youth. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and could fix about anything. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2003, at Fielding Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge.
