Laura Jean Stetler Ramirez

Laura Jean Stetler Ramirez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on September 18, 2025, surrounded by her children and family.

Laura was born on September 23, 1955, in Ohio, to Mark and Geraldine Stetler. The fourth of five daughters, she gave her father plenty of challenges but even more joy. She grew up in Montana and Idaho, where she attended school. Early on she cultivated a love of the outdoors. Known for her barefoot adventures and radiant smile, Laura carried an easy joy with her wherever she went.

On September 23, 1976, Laura married the love of her life, Luciano "Junior" Ramirez. Their marriage spanned 39 years, until Luciano's passing in 2015. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, a little sarcasm, and a deep sense of family.

Laura had an extraordinary gift for nurturing whether it was her children, her grandchildren, or the many animals that found their way into her life. Horses, dogs, cats if it had four legs, Laura's heart had room for it. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family, horses, or just enjoying the beauty of nature, and sharing simple, quiet joys.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luciano; her granddaughter, Hailey Jean Allen; her parents, Mark and Geraldine Stetler; and her sister, Lynn Schwanke.

Laura is lovingly remembered by her children: Andrea and Mike Allen, with their children, Trevor, Kaydie (Chase) McQuary, Cameron, and Eli; Matthew and Michelle Ramirez, with their children, Noah, Joshua, Mason, Sara, and Audrey; and Jane Tosland, with her children, Maggie, Zoe, Thorin, and Alora.

She is also survived by her sisters, Gen (Jim) Beery, Claudia (AJ) Couture, and Marnie (Gary) Dodson; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

Laura's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. She will be deeply missed and remembered.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
