Larry Eugene Whitaker

Larry Eugene Whitaker, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 14, 2023, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Brio Hospice.

Larry was born November 8, 1935, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Elwood Lafayette Whitaker and Meta Mary Cordon Whitaker. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Larry made his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a Contractor for TMC Contractors.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, chariot racing, horseback riding, and spending time with his friends and family.

Larry is survived by his son, Devlyn Whitaker of Idaho Falls; daughter, Danielle Pierce of Idaho Falls; brother, Charles Whitaker of UT;  4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Meta Whitaker; brothers, Bartlett Cordon Whitaker, Cal C Whitaker, Elwood Whitaker Jr., Jay C Whitaker, Kay Whitaker, Charles C Whitaker; and sisters, Bonnie Whitaker, Nona Darlene Whitaker, Reta Pearl Whitaker, Norma Whitaker, Votis Whitaker, and Mary Joyce Whitaker.

A gathering for friends and family will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Military Honor Guard at 2:30 p.m.
