Larry Franklin Walrath, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at his home.
Larry was born January 16, 1934, in Denver, Colorado, to Frank Walrath and Helen Ruth McCune Walrath. His family moved to Gardiner, Montana, when he was a young boy, and later to Idaho. Larry graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1952.
In 1953, he married Phyllis Jean Randall and together they had six children. They were married for 37 years until Phyllis's death in 1990. They raised their children primarily in Idaho Falls.
In 1991, Larry retired from a long successful career at the Idaho National Laboratory; he moved to Texas and then to New Mexico before returning to Idaho Falls. For the last few years he spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, and summers in Idaho Falls.
Larry very much enjoyed playing his guitar with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and shooting.

Daughter, Barbara Jean Gomperts (Mark) of Burke, VA;
Brother, Donald Fred Walrath (Billee) of Firth, ID;
Brother, Tommy Joe Walrath of Salmon, ID;
Sister, Joan Marie Wind (Donald) of Soda Springs, ID;
Cousins, Gary Walrath of Mesa, AZ, and Mike Johnston (Lois) of Boise, ID;
15 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, and his parents.
Larry’s remains will be interred at Groveland Cemetery in Groveland, Idaho, together with his wife, Phyllis Jean Randall Walrath.
