Larry "Hippie" Allen Scott, 70, of Ammon, passed away September 20, 2017, at his home. He was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice and his loving family. Larry was born July 22, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Robert Allan Scott and Gladys Backlund Scott. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. Larry was married twice and was blessed with three children, Layne, Lisa and Angie. His children were his pride and joy. He worked as a farmer, truck driver and carpenter. He served during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Larry is survived by his son, Layne Alan Scott of Ogden, UT; daughter, Dona Lisa Scott of Ucon, ID; daughter, Angela (Sam) Carpenter of Idaho Falls, ID; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Military Rites will be performed at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, at New Sweden Cemetery by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
