Larry Joe Pettingill, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 19, 2026, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Larry was born July 21, 1939, in Jerome, Idaho, to Elwood Pettingill and Viola Johnson Pettingill. He grew up in Jerome, Idaho, and moved to Idaho Falls in 1970. He served 20 years in the Army National Guard.

Larry worked as a manager and Real Estate Agent. He was a member of Idaho Falls Booster Club, Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, Gold Coaters, Elks Club, Idaho Falls Air Shows, and the War Bonnet Rodeo. He loved car shows and parades.

Larry is survived by his son, David (Janae) Pettingill of Ashton, ID; son, Marty (Donna) Pettingill of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jeffrey (ReBekah) Pettingill of Ucon, ID; daughter, Michelle (Karen Trock) Pettingill of Boise, ID; brother, James (Marilyn) Pettingill of Boise, ID; sister, Kathy Garey of Boise, ID; sister, Kaye Pettingill of Portland, OR; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Viola Pettingill; sister, Glenda Taylor; and his partner, Marge Foster.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road in Ammon, Idaho. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
