Lawrence K. “Larry” Palmer, 58, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014.
Larry was born February 28, 1956, in Ashton, Idaho, to Leon Glen Palmer and Patricia Ruth Haverfield Palmer. He grew up and attended schools in Ashton and graduated from North Fremont High School. Larry served his country in the U. S. Army for sixteen years, earning the rank of Sergeant First Class.
On September 16, 2011, he married Jane Ann Burkman in Ashton. Larry was a supportive and loving father to six children, James, Jennifer, Hope, Josh, Erik, and Kylee. Larry was an electrician and welder and owned Sparky’s Electric Repair in Idaho Falls.
He was a member of the Idaho Bow Hunter’s Association. He enjoyed archery, hunting, wood carving, camping, and four-wheeling. He collected pocket watches and coins and was a fan of NASCAR.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jane Palmer of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, James Palmer of Billings, MT;
daughter, Jennifer (Derek) McIntosh of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Hope Collins of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Josh (Kayla) Bennett of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Erik Frankhauser of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Kylee Bennett of Idaho Falls, ID;
brother, Lynn (Lona) Harrison of Chester, ID;
brother, Jim (Karinda) Palmer of Ashton, ID;
brother, Bob (LaRae) Palmer of Ashton, ID;
7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Patricia Palmer; and two brothers, Mike Palmer and Mark Palmer.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Veterans Memorial in Freeman Park. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life Potluck “Larry style” will be held following the services and guests are asked to bring a chair and a dish to share.
