Larry Eugene Jewkes, 67, of Idaho Falls, went home to his Heavenly Father on January 4, 2014. He passed away at his home in Idaho Falls.
Larry was born on February 16, 1946, in Wells, Nevada to Floyd E. Jewkes and Martha Louise Blackett Jewkes. He grew up in Wells and Elko, Nevada. At the age of 16, he moved to Idaho Falls with his family, where he attended Bonneville High School.
He met and married his lifetime sweetheart and best friend, Vickie Walton Jewkes, on August 27, 1965, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They have four children. Larry worked for Amcor for 17 years at which time he and Vickie moved to North Pole, Alaska, where he worked at University Block. In 2004, Larry’s health began to fail prompting a move back to Idaho Falls.
Larry loved hunting, fishing spending time at the cabin in Island Park and most of all being with his family who he loved so much. “You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my love.”
Larry is survived by his wife, Vickie Jewkes; his children, Tamera (David) Sanders of Bluebell, UT; Thomas (Trish) Jewkes of Idaho Falls; Christine (Mike) Potter of Idaho Falls; and L. John Jewkes of Idaho Falls; 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, and a nephew.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon)
