Larry Hudman

Larry Von Hudman, 80, of Coltman, Idaho, passed away November 1, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born January 5, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Arthur Hudman and Sarah Ann Holley Hudman. His father passed away when Larry was almost two and the family moved to Ogden, Utah. In his younger years he lived with his aunt and uncle Wade, who taught him great values and raised him as one of their own. In his teenage years he lived with several of his brothers and sisters.

On June 30, 1961, he married Beverly Nelson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 1, 1965. Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many teaching positions and as a Membership Clerk, which was where he learned to work on computers. Larry’s greatest love in life was his great family. He was so proud of all of them for the fine people they have become.

He loved to work on cars and worked as the Shop Foreman at B.A. Wackerli and was service manager at Hart-Pontiac Cadillac for twenty years. He loved to record music on the computer and would listen to great songs for hours. He loved animals, especially his dogs. He loved to play Pinochle and Skip Bow. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and teasing grandkids. Probably his greatest love was going to the Oregon Coast with his family. He always said it would probably be the last time he got to go; but, even this year he went with his daughter Gina’s family and had such a great time.

Larry is survived by his wife Beverly and his children, Larry Von Hudman of Idaho Falls; Curtis Jay (Linda) Hudman of Terreton, Wendy (Rex) Morgan of Battleground; WA, Rodney Allen (Kendra) Hudman of Idaho Falls; Gina (Shawn) Robison of Idaho Falls, Tonya (Bob) Herbst of Idaho Falls; and Alisa (Nathan) Durtschi of Rigby, 29 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sarah Hudman and siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman 2nd Ward, 12448 North 5th East, with Bishop Myron Creager officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, both at the church. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
