Larry Hill

Larry Kermit Hill, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 11, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona.

Larry was born January 16, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Kermit Hill and Edna Rose Clifford Hill. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.

In 1954, at the age of 16, Larry asked his mom if she would allow him to join the Air Force, which she gladly did. While in the service Larry worked as a communication center specialist until October 1962.

In the summer of 1961 Larry was working as the assistant manager at Buttrey's Food store in Missoula Montana when he met the love of his life, Barbara Dorine Bader. Their courtship was brief and they were married on December 10, 1961, and their marriage later solemnized in the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls. They were blessed with two children, Ricky L. And Robin Rae. Shortly after Robin was born, they moved the family to Idaho Falls when Larry took a job as the assistant manager. Larry also worked many years as a tire salesman for numerous tire stores where he met many people and made numerous life long friends.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings, but being able to give blessings to those in need was always the most rewarding job he had.

Larry LOVED to bowl! The majority of his adult life was spent at the bowling hall with some of his best friends. Many nights, weekend tournaments, as well as week long ones were where Larry was most at home. He was actually quite good and was even able to bowl a perfect 300 game, a hard feat to do, not once but twice in his career. He always bragged that he was the FBI, and no not the government one. He served as president for 22 years.

Bowling was not Larry's only passion. Once he retired, golf became the new challenge and love. He spent many sunny days in Tucson on the golf courses with Barb, Rick and Jaci where he was becoming quite a good golfer. Golfing was not the only love that Arizona brought Larry. The Arizona Wildcats were his number 1. He loved going to the games and knew all the players and their stats.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Barbara Hill of Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Rick (Jaci) Hill of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Robin (Abe) Abrahamson of Mountain Home, Idaho; his favorite pride and joy grand daughter Lacey; and newest and absolutely adored more than anything, great grand son Liam Thomas Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lonny.
