Click Here To View Memorial Video Larry Henning Burgess, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 1, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. He was under the care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Larry was born January 7, 1940 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Jewell Carlisle Burgess and Eleanora Sophia Schmidt Burgess. He was raised in Idaho, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1958. On December 18, 1963 he married Patsy Irene Caughie in Idaho Falls. Together they raised four children. Larry served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a supervisor for Mt. Bell Phone Company and in Asbestos Abatement. Larry was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and various sports. Survivor’s include his loving wife Pat of nearly 50 years, Son: Nick (Jill) Burgess of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Tony (Thressa) Burgess of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Debbie (Sean) Rose of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Todd Burgess of Boise, ID; Brother: Ronald (Mary Kaye) Burgess of San Diego, CA; Sister: Juelene (Loren) Collins of Hamilton, MT; 3 grandsons and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Christine Burgess and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue). The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both at Wood’s. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans and the Idaho Honor Guard. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
