LaRena N. Rasmussen - 12/12/2002 LaRena N. Rasmussen - 12/12/2002 LaRENA N. RASMUSSEN POCATELLO, ID -- LaRena Neves Rasmussen, 87, of Pocatello, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 12, 2002. She was born April 16, 1915, in Burlington, Wyoming, in her family home, the eighth child of Richard Carl Neves and Samantha “Mattie” Johnson Neves. She attended grade school in Burlington, Wyoming and three years of high school in Lovell, Wyoming. She moved back with her family to Burlington and graduated from the first high school graduating class in Burlington. She married Claude “Spike” Trumbull on May 20, 1934, in Burlington, Wyoming. They were later divorced. She married Alma Rasmussen on March 7, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 21, 1980. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1997. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions. One of her greatest talents was playing the piano, which she taught herself to play at an early age. She also played the piano in a dance band for several years. LaRena will always be remembered by her many former patients for her kind and efficient services as a nurse at the former LDS Riverview Hospital, where she was employed for many years until her retirement in 1979. [Kathy] Trumbull, Pocatello, IDStepson: Reed [Jan] Rasmussen, Scottsdale, AZSister: Delna Johnson, South Jordan, UTSister: Carla Loveland, Burlington, WYSister: Lucy Cox, Lovell, WYSister: Vera [Erwin] Lass, Blackfoot 7 Grandchildren, 23 Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, Owen, Elden, Richard, William, and Wilford, and a sister, Elnora. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge, with Bishop Max E. Landon officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
