Dayna LaRee Hamblin Cramer, 72, of Ucon, passed away at home with her family on March 16, 2015, after an extended illness.
She was born June 23, 1942, to Joseph Cyril and Annie Milne Hamblin, in Driggs, Idaho. She attended elementary school in Victor, Idaho, and graduated from Teton High School in Driggs, Idaho. Upon graduation, she enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital, where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
There, she met her future husband, Lewis William Cramer, and they were married on June 22, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She worked in the Salt Lake City LDS Hospital while her husband finished his schooling. They moved back to Idaho for a brief time, and then on to the San Fernando valley in southern California for two years. They then moved to Moose, Wyoming, where her husband was employed at Grand Teton National Park. They finally made their home in Ucon, Idaho.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many positions including Primary teacher, Young Women camp director, Cub Scout den mother, Relief Society President of the Ucon 4th Ward and worked for many years on the Caribou District Council of the Boy Scouts of America, training adult Scout leaders. She earned the Caribou District Award of Merit, followed by her Silver Beaver Badge. She also graduated from the Wood Badge adult training program. As a youth, she was active in 4H, and loved taking her projects to the State fair. She loved Scouting and enjoyed hobbies, such as sewing, crafts, scrap booking, beading, cake decorating, and handwork. She made and donated many baby quilts to mothers of newborns. Her life has been one of devotion to her family and service to others.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Cramer of Ucon, ID; two brothers and two sisters; Lorna (Roy, deceased) West of Diamond Springs, CA; Earl (Joan) Hamblin of Tetonia, ID; Karen (Vern) Little of Parker, ID; Paul (Thelma) Hamblin of Bountiful, UT; Francis Jeppesen Hamblin, (Paul's divorced wife), of Brigham City, UT; her children, Curtis Cramer of Ucon, ID; Deborah Cramer of Iona, ID; Brenda Merchant of Lincoln, ID; Brent (Pam) Cramer of Ucon, ID; her grandchildren, Alexander Merchant, Darcie Merchant, Makayla Cramer, Hailee Cramer, Brooklyn Cramer, Abagail Cramer, and Brendan Cramer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Cyril and Annie Hamblin, Three sisters; Ruby Hamblin, Reta Hamblin Williams, and Carol Maurine Hamblin Marcum.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Ucon LDS Monument Ward, 10854 North 41 East, Ucon, with Bishop Rod South officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
