Laraina Landon

Laraina Richards Landon, 64, of Firth, passed away October 22, 2016, at her home.

Laraina was born November 19, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Grant Thomas Richards and Barbara Jean Eckersley Richards. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. She also attended Boise State University.

On January 15, 1982, she married Michael Terry Landon in Idaho Falls. Together they raised five children, Michael, Thomas, Hazel, Ellie, and Katie. Laraina and Michael made their home in Firth, Idaho, where Laraina worked as a nurses aid, a security guard, worked at French’s potato, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Laraina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, cub scouts, and edited the ward bulletin. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Laraina is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Michael Landon of Firth, ID; son, Michael (Sharon) Landon of Firth, ID; son, Thomas Landon of Firth, ID; daughter, Hazel (Justin) Hill of Idaho Falls; daughter, Ellie (Kevin) Dahl of Caldwell, ID; daughter, Katie Landon (Nathan Shook) of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Bobbett Jensen of Idaho Falls; brother, Ralph Richards of Idaho Falls; sister, Coy Richards of Idaho Falls; brother, Roy (Cindy) Richards of Idaho Falls; brother, Rex (Susan) Richards of Idaho Falls; 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Firth LDS Kimball Ward, 744 North 600 East, with Bishop Todd Killpack officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.
