Lanell Duffin

LaNell Duffin, 74, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away July 5, 2023, at Eagle Rock Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia, formerly Good Samaritan Assisted Living. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She was born June 19, 1949, in American Falls, Idaho, to Karl Thornton Duffin and Oral Wanda Duffin. She grew up on a farm in Aberdeen, Idaho. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School.

She was a member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Idaho Falls. LaNell’s personal relationship with Jesus was significant in her ability to endure great hardship, yet live her life with great joy. She shared her deep faith with all who knew her. She touched more lives with her kindness, her beautiful smile, and her sassy wit than she could ever have imagined.

LaNell wrote, and generously shared, beautiful poetry and stories. She created gifts for loved ones by coloring pictures with colored pencils and with markers on velvet. She always remembered family and friends birthdays, and was wonderful to her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing games, especially Bingo, and cats were her very favorite pet.

LaNell is survived by her loving siblings, Renae Duffin Pelo of Orem, Utah, Elaine (Dan) Rassmussen of Saint George, Utah, and Grant (Laurelle) Duffin of Brigham City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Thornton Duffin and Oral Wanda Duffin; siblings, LaMar Duffin, Merril Duffin, and Beth Whitehead.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church, 793 Cleveland, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
