LANCE M. RICHARDSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lance Melvin Richardson, 42, of Idaho Falls, died March 24, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Melvin Mark Richardson and Dixie Joyce Gordon Richardson. He attended Hillview Elementary, Ammon Middle School, and Bonneville Jr. High and High School in Idaho Falls, where he was awarded the All State and All American Awards in High School Football. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, then served a mission in Helsinki, Finland. He married Jozet Miller May 5, 1983, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was co-host for the national radio show, “Probing America,” and the local talk show, “Probing the West.” He served as President of American Family Institute, was an author of many books, and was well-known for his public speaking. He chaired the “Holli Fund” which benefitted individuals with catastrophic health problems, and sponsored the “Eagles Dare” youth program. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held many positions, including Seminary President in High School. He served in the Elders’ Quorum Presidency, as Scout leader, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. His wife and seven children were his life. He loved coaching football, wrestling, baseball, basketball and swimming. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, historical research and writing, singing and composing music, for which he earned many awards. He was an amateur magician and sculptor, and was well known for his public speaking. He simply loved life. Dance, of the Idaho Falls Lincoln Stake, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
