Lamont Anderson

Lamont Duane Anderson, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 11, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Lamont was born June 29, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Virgil Leon Anderson and Mary Maria Terry Anderson. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended University of Idaho from which he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree.

On June 29, 1958, he married Rozann Slade in Glenns Ferry. To this union were born four children, Duane, Stanley, GayLynn, and Susan. Lamont and Rozann made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Lamont worked as a potato buyer for Pillsbury prior to his retirement.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. His hobbies were quilting, fly fishing, hiking, traveling, photography, farming and ranching. He was a member of the Snake River Quilting Guild and Rotary International. He volunteered at elementary schools helping children learn to read.

Lamont is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rozann Anderson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Duane Anderson of Gardner, KS; son, Stanley (Danell) Anderson of Temecula, CA; daughter, GayLynn (Ross) Butler of Boise, ID; daughter, Susan Balintona of Edina, MN; brother, Larry (Reva) Anderson of Burley, ID; brother, Dean (Barbara) Anderson of WA; brother, Mark (Candice) Anderson of Iona, ID; sister, Carolyn (Jim) Edmundson of TX; sister, Donna Hayes of OH; daughter-in-law, Agnes (Kate) Anderson of Paola, KS; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Libby Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., both visitations at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
