Lael Carlson - 01/19/2002 Lael Carlson - 01/19/2002 LAEL CARLSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lael Stolworthy Carlson passed away January 18, 2002 in Idaho Falls following a courageous eleven year battle with cancer. Lael was born in Brockman, Idaho, August 11, 1920 to Edward A. and Mulvena Christensen Stolworthy. She grew up in Idaho Falls but usually spent her summers at her father's sheep ranch in Brockman. She attended O. E. Bell Jr. High, Idaho Falls High School and Utah State University. She married Kenneth M. Carlson on December 27, 1940 and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in December, 2001. She enjoyed traveling to their home in Arizona each fall but always insisted on being home in Idaho Falls in December to prepare for the annual family Christmas party. Many happy and memorable times were spent at their cabin in Island Park with her children and grandchildren. Many thanks to Dr. Huntington and his staff, the staff at the Idaho Falls Recovery Center, Idaho Falls Care Center, and friends and family for the help and comfort given to Mom through the last few difficult months. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
