Laddie Wayne Shaw

Laddie Wayne Shaw, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 24, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family and under the compassionate care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Laddie was born December 11, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Gordon James Shaw and Helen Marie Petty Shaw. He grew up in the Taylor and Idaho Falls areas, where he attended school.

On April 19, 1964, Laddie married Beverly Carol Krogh in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were married for 27 years and were blessed with six children. Even though they were very young, they put their whole heart into caring for their family and raising their children. Beverly was a devoted mother who poured her love, strength, and dedication into her family every day.

On July 24, 1992, Laddie married Paulette Lee Cox Jeffries in Fremont County. Laddie and Polly made their home in Idaho Falls where they began building their new life together.

He made his living restoring old cars, bringing life back to engines and bodies that others had given up on. With patience, skill, and an eye for detail, he turned worn metal into something beautiful again, and his craftsmanship became known and respected by so many. Alongside Polly, he spent many years attending car shows and racing cars, building not only remarkable machines but also long-lasting friendships with fellow car enthusiasts who shared his passion. In his last days, one friend summed it up best when he said, “Lad, I want you to know you’re a legend.”

Laddie had friends from every walk of life and treated each of them with the same respect, meeting everyone exactly where they were. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved pups, and his soft heart showed in the gentle, loyal way he cared for them.

Laddie will be remembered for his talent, his kindness, and his loyalty. His legacy lives on in his family, his many friendships, and his beautiful restoration work.

Laddie is survived by his wife, Polly Shaw of Idaho Falls; daughters, Shiree (Lyle) Hanson of Idaho Falls, Sharron (Mark) Riddersen of Eagle, ID, Robin (Michael) Matzek of Scottsdale, AZ, Susanne (Delbert) Johnson of Emmett, ID, Amy (Nick) Meacham of Idaho Falls; son, James Shaw of Idaho Falls; step-son, Conrad (Chelsie) Jeffries of Boise, ID; brother, Dennis Shaw of Idaho Falls; sister, Kathleen “Susie” Lance of Post Falls, ID; step-brother, John (Joyce) Arbuckle of Pocatello, ID; 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Shaw and Helen Shaw Arbuckle; sister, Violet Jacobson; stepsister, Joann Jensen; and stepson, Weston Jeffries.
