Kyle Gilbert Johnson, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 24, 2024, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
Kyle was born September 4, 1957, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Tebbin Gilbert Johnson and Mary Larue Jenkins Johnson. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended BYU for a year and then Kyle worked as a farmer. He later earned certification in drug and alcohol counseling from USU.
On September 24, 1976, he married Lori McIntire. Together they shared five children, Chris, Megan, Cameron, Keegan, and Emily. They were later divorced.
He was married to Teresa Garff for 11 years. They were later divorced.
On May 15, 2019, he married the love of his life, Geri Annette Matthew in Maui, Hawaii. Kyle gained three “bonus children” and seven grandchildren. Kyle and Geri made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They built a home on his family’s farm where he grew up.
He was a member of Watersprings Church. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and traveling.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Geri Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; children, Christopher (Miranda) Johnson, Megan (Dan) Baird, Cameron (Katie) Johnson, Keegan (Michelle) Johnson, Emily (Cody) Arave, Nicole (Dominic) Bou, Matthew (Becca) Morris, and Brianna (Patrick) Anderson all of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Bryan (Denece) Johnson of Clearfield, UT, Craig (Rebecca) Johnson of Pleasant Grove, UT, Val (Karen) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Sherisse (Brad) Pettingill of Idaho Falls, ID, and Julia (Bob) Workman of Layton, UT; and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Watersprings Church, 4250 South 25th East, with Pastor David Coleman officiating. The family will visit with friends following the memorial from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Idaho Falls Summit Park Ward, 3102 Pinnacle Dr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
