Kurt Ronald Ackerman, 54, of Menan, Idaho, passed away July 29, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Kurt was born August 9, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ronald Keith Ackerman and Norma Hazel Taylor Ackerman. He grew up in Menan, with his parents and two sisters. He attended schools in Menan and Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. On February 5, 1982, he married Connie McRae in Menan, Idaho, and to this union were born two daughters, Jennifer and Kristie. They divorced in 1989. In 1992, he met his partner-in-crime and future wife, Jenni Larsen. To this union came a son, Gage. On February 28, 1998, he married the love of his life, Jenni, and they resided in Idaho Falls until 2006, when they built their home in Menan. Kurt worked for Swire Coca Cola as a service technician, then went on to be a concrete truck operator at Monroc. Kurt was currently employed as an equipment operator at the INL. His many hobbies included snow machining, dirt bikes, camping, fishing, hunting, and working in his shop. Kurt always referred to himself as a jack of all trades, master of none. Kurt could put a smile on everyone's face, whether it be his innocent teasing, his jokes, or his contagious smile. He had the ability to make you blush two shades darker than your normal blush. Kurt is survived by his loving wife, Jenni Ackerman of Menan, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Dixon of Menan, ID, daughter, Kristie (Casey Christensen) Ackerman of Idaho Falls, ID, Son, Gage Ackerman of Menan, ID. Granddaughters, Kaebree Nebeker and Addie Christensen. Mother, Norma Ackerman of Menan, ID, Sister, Sonya (Victor) Noles of Idaho Falls, ID, Sister, Chere Garland of Menan, ID. He was proceeded in death by his father, Ronald Keith Ackerman. His whole world was centered around his family and teaching them the joys of the great outdoors. Kurt thought it was important to teach his family how to hunt, fish, ride and enjoy life. He believed life was short and you need to play hard and live it to the fullest. "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch." Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends and family from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Friday at Wood East Side. Burial will be at a later date in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. Kurt had no greater joy then his family. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted through Wood Funeral Home, P. O. Box 51434, Idaho Falls, ID 83405, to go towards his granddaughters' college funds.
