While surrounded by family, Kristy died from natural causes related to heart and kidney failure at home in Idaho Falls on January 15, 2024.
Kristy was born February 10, 1954, in Shelley, Idaho, to June Campbell and A. Earl Wadsworth. She grew up making fond memories on West 14th Street with three siblings and numerous neighborhood friends. In her youth, Kristy attended Hawthorne School, Central Junior High, and graduated from Skyline High School. She loved all forms of music and spent time composing, playing the piano or organ, and listening to her favorite tunes. Kristy sang throughout her life, including singing with the school Madrigal Choir and competed at All-State Chorus. Another highlight of her youth was sailing from Florida to the Bahamas with her parents and cousin on the family sailboat.
She continued her studies of music at Ricks College until her marriage. Kristy married Barry C. Lewis on November 17, 1973, in the Idaho Falls Temple. She trained and worked as a dental assistant for a few years until she became a mother, bringing six children into a life full of learning. Among other things, Kristy spent her time planning parties, working in the PTA, and supporting her husband and kids in every way. She was a talented seamstress and made numerous quilts and clothing items, crocheted blankets and doilies, and spent hours cross-stitching and doing embroidery. Kristy also created art with any medium available to her: scrapbooking, gardening, designing, creating crafts, painting or sketching, and arranging flowers.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kristy served in every music-related position possible and in all auxiliaries including: Relief Society, Young Women’s, Primary and Cub Scouts. Kristy served as an ordinance worker for many years in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples. Kristy and Barry recently reflected on their life and family when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her spouse, Barry Lewis; children, Oliver Lewis, Joe Lewis, Tom Lewis, Audrey Geeting, Angela Lewis, and Alisha Lacey; 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; siblings, Brenda Lovell, Jackie Felt, Karen Green, Aubrey and Bill Conner, Ben and Enoch Wadsworth; and step-mother, Norma Wadsworth.
Kristy was preceded in death by her parents, June Campbell Wadsworth and A. Earl Wadsworth; and brother, Brent Wadsworth.
