Kolleen Pfost

Atella Colleen "Kolleen" Reynolds Pfost, 88, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away on April 19, 2016, at Cottonwood Cove Retirement Community in Chubbuck, Idaho. She was under the care of her family and One Source Hospice.

Kolleen was born June 9, 1927, in Marysville, Idaho to Ward Willard Reynolds and LaVerna Harris Reynolds. She grew up in the area and attended schools, graduating from Fremont High School. She continued her education by attending Idaho State University in Pocatello and later Ricks College in Rexburg where she received an Associate’s Degree in Education.

On July 11, 1949, she married Dean Fredrick Pfost in Boise, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 30, 1954. Kolleen was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated Dean’s TV in Idaho Falls.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings for many years. As a missionary she served with her husband in Alaska and Pennsylvania. Kolleen was known as a woman of great faith, compassion and kindness. In serving others she found her greatest joy.

Survivors are: Daughter: Deborah (Gregory) Maynard of South Jordan, UT Daughter: Judy (Edward) Scott of Pocatello, ID Daughter: Jan (Rolly) Zollinger of Hagerman, ID Son: David (Debra) Pfost of Rigby, ID Son: Eric (Mary Kay) Pfost of North Ogden, UT Brother: Billie Lavern (Sarah) Reynolds 22 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, on December 4, 2011; her parents; one brother, Morgan Reynolds; and five sisters, Beth Blake, Ruth Meyer, Virginia Vigus, Margaret Metcalf, and Joyce Clark.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward (651 Gladstone). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
