Klista (Wood) Byers

Klista Wood Byers, 46, of Roberts, passed away December 14, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and family in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Klista was born March 17, 1975, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Dee Lynn Wood and Janet Ostler Wood. Her dad gave her the nickname “Whipper Snapper” and that name stuck. She will be forever in our hearts as our Snap, Snappy, and Aunt Snappy!

She grew up in Mud Lake, Idaho, and graduated from West Jefferson High School. The next ten years of her life were spent in Utah where she met her husband, Kirk Byers. They were married on June 20, 2006, in Bountiful, Utah. Work brought Klista and Kirk to Roberts, Idaho, where they resided until her passing.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, antiques, cooking, and was an avid puzzler.

She loved being Kirk’s wife and a mommy to all her cats through the years. Klista was a second mom to all her nieces and nephews and a second grandma to all the greats. Her life has left a permanent imprint. Her passing will leave a permanent void!

Klista is survived by her loving husband, Kirk Byers of Roberts, ID; mother, Janet Wood of Terreton, ID; her parents-in-law, Arden & Carol Byers of Grand Marais, MN; siblings, Byron (Jennifer) Wood of Roberts, ID, Darren (Laurel) Wood of Terreton, ID, Neil (Erin) Wood of Monteview, ID, Gordon (Chelsi) Wood of Riverton, UT, RaNae (Craig) Mitchell of Highland, UT, Teri (Ike) Tomlinson of Terreton, ID, Trina (Lex) Williams of Sugar City, ID; brother-in-law, Eric (Barb) Byers of Rosewood, OH; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dee Lynn Wood; grandparents, Leland & Audrey Ostler; grandparents, Henry & Verda Wood; nephews, Gentry Wood, Trey Tomlinson, and Tanner Chadwick.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Terreton Stake Center, 1297 East 1500 North, with Bishop Gary Skidmore officiating. The family will visit with friends from Sunday, December 19th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, December 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., both times at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Cemetery in Terreton.
