Dr. Kim Coffman

Dr. Kim Jacob Coffman, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 31, 2015, at his home. Kim was born October 2, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to Jacob Therman Coffman and Susan Ackley Coffman. He grew up and attended schools in Dayton, and graduated from Meadowdale High School. He also attended Ohio State University, where he earned his Medical Degree. On December 22, 1973, he married Diana Bishop Coffman in Vandalia, Ohio. To this union were born three children, Andrea, Patrick, and Marissa. Kim and Diana made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Kim worked as a Cardiologist for over 40 years at the Idaho Heart Institute. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, going to the mountains, playing Sudoku, and reading. Kim is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Diana Coffman of Idaho Falls; daughter, Andrea Shea (Jacob Lee) Brookhart of Idaho Falls; son, Patrick Aaron Coffman of Idaho Falls; daughter, Marissa Lee Coffman of Idaho Falls; brother-in-law, Allen Bishop of Idaho Falls; grandson, Hyrum Kim Brookhart of Idaho Falls; grandson, Jackson Cooper Brookhart of Idaho Falls; granddaughter, Lilah Bailey Coffman of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Therman Coffman and Susan Coffman. A Gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Development Workshop, 555 W. 25th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83402, or the Joshua D. Smith Foundation, 347 Constitution Way, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to Alliance Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.
