Kevin Ray Maddock passed away peacefully Jan. 28, 2015 at EIRMC surrounded by family.
Kevin was born April 14, 1964 in Pocatello ID to Clifford J. Maddock and Patsy R. Jackson Maddock. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Shelley, and Firth. In 1981 he married LeaAnn Winchester. To this union were born two children, Cassandra Jean (Cassie) and Kristopher Ray. They were later divorced but remained friends. Kevin married Sue Preston and to this union was born a daughter, Lindsay. They were later divorced. He worked for Pizza Hut as regional manager in Chubbuck.
In June of 1994 Kevin was paralyzed in a bull riding accident. He worked in the offices of Dr. Selznik after the accident for many years. He didn't let the accident keep him from doing the things he loved. He continued to hunt, camp, and enjoy the outdoors. Kevin moved to Idaho Falls in 2004 to be close to his family. Kevin loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them camping, hunting, playing games and laughing.
He is survived by his children Cassie Tibbitts and Kris Maddock both of Idaho Falls, Lindsay
Maddock of Eau Claire, WI. Three grandchildren, Jordyn, James, and Adison. His parents Cliff (Debbie) Maddock and Patsy (Jerry) Poole of Idaho Falls; his brother, Cliff (Skeeter) Maddock (Elizabeth) of Boise ID; and a sister, Karen Maddock of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a sister.
Kevin's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at EIRMC for their committed and compassionate care of Kevin for all these years. Specifically, the wound care team and the team at the infusion center who saw him daily, many of whom he considered friends, Dr.s Nathan and Wilson, Dr. Stoddard who made the last couple of years some of Kevin's most comfortable, Dr. Walker at the spine center, his case workers at the hospital, Deann Munns and Nadene Anderson, who worked tirelessly to make sure he got the care he needed at home, and the staff in ICU A headed by Dr. Miller, your efforts to ensure that Kevin's last wishes were followed are greatly appreciated, the nurses on 6th floor who were so kind to Kevin. He deeply appreciated all who cared for him so compassionately. Thank you from all of us.
Memorial Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Christ Community Church with Pastor Joel Walton officiating. The visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services.
