Kevin John-Lewis

Kevin John-Lewis, 63, found peace August 9, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kevin was born April 13, 1960, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Americus John-Lewis and Catherine Melba John-Lewis. He grew up and attended elementary school in California, and graduated from high school in the Tri-Cities. He also attended and played basketball at Cal-State Fullerton.

On August 19, 2006, he married Rebecca Aiken John-Lewis. Kevin, Becky, and their son, Tyson, made their home in Ammon, Idaho. Kevin worked in customer service at Lowe’s.

Kevin was a Christian. He had a passion for grilling, loved basketball and football, and enjoyed coaching his son. He will always be remembered for his smile, kind heart, hard work ethic, and his strength and determination. He had a charismatic personality and made friends everywhere he went; to know him was to love him.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Becky John-Lewis, and son, Tyson John-Lewis of Ammon, ID; his girls, Jenaya John-Lewis, Nykia Clark, Jasmine Winn, Keyla Wardlow, all of California; brother, Brian John-Lewis of Louisiana; brother, Kelly John-Lewis of Washington; sister, Jessica Atherton of Boise, ID; and 10  grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.  The family will visit with friends from 9 to 10:15 a.m. prior to services.
