Kevin Mark Butikofer, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 20, 2015, at his home.
Kevin was born January 20, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the fifth of nine children (and the only planned one, he said) born to Preston Hyrum Butikofer and Thelma Esther Young Butikofer. A lifelong resident of Idaho Falls, he graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended Idaho State University.
On August 28, 1980, he married Julie A. Johnson in Coltman, Idaho. They raised three beautiful children, Angela, Jamie, and Jakob. Kevin worked as a farmer, bartender, and truck driver, but felt his true calling was as a husband and father.
His passions were gardening, farming, fishing, history, politics, and carpentry. Kevin had a beautiful soul and was an honest, hard working, and devoted father and grandfather. Greatly respected for the kind, compassionate, wonderful man he was, he will be sorely missed by all. His grandchildren, Parker, Wayne Donald, Kaylene, and Myca, who loved being with their Papa, will especially miss their time with him.
