Kermit "Dick" Richard Camphouse

Kermit Richard "Dick" Camphouse, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.

Dick was born October 1, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Kermit Richard Camphouse and Donna Dee Fritch Camphouse. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg, and graduated from Madison High School. After high school, he joined the Navy and served in the Vietnam War.

On September 28, 1978, he married Sherry Ann Boettcher. Kermit and Sherry made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Kermit worked as a laborer for Mt. West Bark.

Dick was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of  Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a true outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed doing latch hook rugs, as well as playing cards and Sudoku. He was an avid reader, reading mostly Western books. He also loved to travel.

Kermit is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Boettcher of Idaho Falls, ID; children Angel Adams of McCammon, ID, Patricia (Gene) Camphouse of Idaho Falls, ID, Adam Camphouse of Idaho Falls, ID, and Phoenix Camphouse of Idaho Falls, ID; siblings, Linda (Jay) Fuhriman of Idaho Falls, ID, Brenda Ward of Mt. Home, Idaho, Thomas Brent (Pamela) Camphouse of Menan, ID, Darlene (Darwin) Goodwin of Idaho Falls, ID, and Deann (Rick) Bell of Mountain Home, ID; 5  grandchildren and 1great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lorna Callas, and son-in-law, Van Adams.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave, with Bishop Christopherson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, and from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior. Both visitations at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. Military Honors will be performed by Rexburg VFW Post #3012 and the United States Navy. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
