KENT A. HESS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Kent Alan Hess, 42, of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, while rafting with his daughter, Cora Hess, over a diversion dam. Cora made it back to shore.
He was born October 20, 1965, in Montpelier, to Arthur and Rita Lewis Hess. He grew up in the Kemmerer, Wyo., area. He attended Kemmerer High School until his sophomore year. He attended and graduated from Anaconda Montana Job Corps with a welding degree.
He moved home, and in 1986 married Yvonne Johnson of Kemmerer. He enjoyed cooking in restaurants, odd jobs and handy man work. Kent loved having a good time no matter what he was doing. From Bear Lake to snow machines, he always had fun with his family.
Survivors include his children, Kent Evan, Aaron and Cora Hess, all of Kemmerer, Wyo.; one grandchild, Savannah Hess of Kemmerer, Wyo.; ex-wives, Yvonne Bettine of Diamondville, Wyo., and Cari Brooks of Evanston, Wyo.; mother, Rita Sibbett of Kemmerer, Wyo.; brothers, Leroy Hess and Travis Black of Idaho, and Trent Sorenson of Montana; and sister, Penny Shultz of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Hess of Cokeville, Wyo.
There will be no viewing. Kent’s wishes were to not have a funeral service, just a drink with ice and some good country music.
The family would like to thank the Idaho Falls Search and Rescue, Perkins, Wood Funeral Home and the community for their efforts. God bless. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to help with the cost of cremation sent to Rita Sibbett, P.O. Box 144, Frontier, WY 83121
