KENNETH THOMAS Click here to view a video of Kenneth's Life IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Kenneth Ray Thomas said goodbye to his family, friends and neighbors Sunday, February 3, 2008, when he died from cancer in his home. He was born May 26, 1948, in California, and spent his last 15 years in Idaho Falls, where he calls home. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Thomas; children, Krista Gazzaway and Keith Thomas, along with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ken also has seven sisters; Sally Nelson, Virginia Franklin, Linda Ewing, Cathy Hudgins, Darlene D’Amico, Sandy Wyatt, and Tina Urquiza. There are four brothers, including Tim Thomas, Joe Thomas, John Davis, and Mike Radovich. As a Christian, Ken was intensely faithful to his God, his country and his family throughout his life. He gave of himself and his faith serving in the prison ministries with both inmates, recent parolees and the moving ministry. He gave back to his country, serving in the Army in Vietnam and then later volunteering with the Red Cross in difficult times such as 9-11 at the Pentagon. When Ken spoke of family, he spoke of his relatives, his Christian family and his neighbors and cherished each and every one. When others reflect on Ken's life, they remember his willingness of heart, his loyalty to his convictions, and most of all his devotion to his faith. He was viewed as a strong person with a tender sweet side of kindness that exuded love. During his life, Ken worked with the Forest Service and was a journeyman meatcutter. He also had many hobbies and interests. Cooking ranked foremost and his BBQ's were enjoyed by everyone. He was an avid outdoors man, gardener, loved wood crafting and remodeling projects. Ken's Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Calvary Chapel Church, 4250 South 25th East, in Idaho Falls, with a potluck reception following at 342 East 18th Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans or Cancer Society in his name. ------------------------------------
