Kenneth Dean Reeder, 80, of Ammon, passed away May 24, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Ken was born October 19, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Russell Reeder and Annie Marguerite Schwartzmann Reeder. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley and Idaho Falls. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Shelley High School where he played on the football team. On May 25, 1956, he married Deanna Christensen in Idaho Falls. Together they had five children. They later divorced. On October 19, 1966, he married Afton Irene Eaton Hansen in Idaho Falls, adding three children from her previous marriage to their family. Together they had three children. Afton passed away June 11, 2007. On May 29, 2010, he married Rena Dolores Hult in Shelley, Idaho. Ken and Dolores made their home in Ammon, Idaho. Ken worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a clerk for 44 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed photography, camping, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening, riding ATVs, and watching high school sports. Ken is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Dolores Reeder of Ammon, ID; son, William Y. (Brenda) Reeder of Taylorsville, UT; son, Bob (Jan) Hansen of Montpelier, ID; son, Karl (Jolene) Reeder of Ammon, ID; son, Steven (Paula Olson) Reeder of Monteview, ID; daughter, Serena (Ted Weeks) Hansen of Blackfoot, ID; daughter, Dena Tomchak of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Dianna Crezee of Ammon, ID; son, Mark (Teresa) Reeder of Firth, ID; daughter, Debbie (David) Diaz of Blackfoot, ID; daughter, Kellie (Joel) Gray of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Matt (Becky) Reeder of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Keith Reeder of Bountiful, UT; 41 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Afton Irene Eaton Reeder; a grandson, Robert Preston Hansen; and a granddaughter, Michelle Dianna Crezee. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Ronald Hult officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
