KENNETH W. PETERSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Kenneth William Peterson, 89, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Shelley, died October 5, 2003, at Life Care Center. He was born November 23, 1913, in Taylor, Idaho, to Lester William Peterson and Mary Viola Holm Peterson. He grew up in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School. He married Lana Fern Taylor September 8, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Shelley, where he farmed. His second home was in Bone, where he ranched. They moved to Idaho Falls in 2001. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities over the years, including Elders Quorum President, home teacher, and Stake Missionary. His greatest loves were his family, horses, cattle, and fishing. Surviving are: Wife: Fern Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Carolee [Wayne] Shurts, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Judith Ann [Gerry] Pratt, Bountiful, UT Daughter: Margaret Kennelly, Idaho Falls, ID Son: John Kenneth [Madge] Peterson, Kennewick, WA Son: Paul Taylor [Debbie] Peterson, Green River, WY Son: Robert [Nancy] Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Yale [Glendora] Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Bernice Thurston, CA Sister: Ruth Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID 29 Grandchildren and 38 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2003, at the Ammon LDS 14th Ward, 2055 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Les Grigg officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side. The family suggests memorials to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund, 50 East North Temple. Salt Lake City, UT 84150
