Kenneth Mckelley

Kenneth W. McKelley, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 10, 2017, at his home.

He was born September 16, 1926, in Shelley, Idaho, to Joseph McKelley and Ada Hult McKelley. He grew up in the Shelley/Firth area and attended Shelley High School. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper during World War II.

On February 14, 1949, he married Dorothy Ellis in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born three children: Paula, Debra, and Rex. Kenneth and Dorothy made their home in Idaho Falls, where Kenneth was a farmer and also worked as a truck driver.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy McKelley of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Debra Kimbro of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Janet (Warren) Mow of Belfair, WA, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Paula McKelley, son, Rex McKelley, and siblings, Bert McKelley, Robert McKelley, Barbara Dye, and Leona Hall.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
