Kenneth Ludlow

May 11, 1927 — February 3, 2018

Kenneth Ludlow

Our father, Kenneth Ludlow, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 3, 2018. He left this life the same way he lived, quietly and with dignity. Dad was blessed to be in great health, both physically and mentally. Even at 90, he was still driving. He lived independently since the passing of his beloved companion, Myrt Lindsay Ludlow, a year ago.

Dad was born on May 11, 1927, to William and Gertrude Mary Bruce Ludlow in Lorenzo, Idaho. He had two siblings, Bruce and Betty Ellis who preceded him in death. Kenneth grew up without a father. His dad passed away, and the young family was raised by their mother. Dad was a product of the Great Depression. He learned to live frugally and work hard.

Ken had a keen mind and excelled in mathematics. He was a high honors graduate of Rigby High School and a proud Red Devil!

Dad married Myrt Lindsay on April 28,1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. This union produced four children: Kris Jensen (Denis), Kathy Schofield (Monte), Laura Manning (Larry), and Eric A. Ludlow (Phoebe). He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

In 1952, he began working with American Cyanamid, which later became the Idaho Nuclear Engineering Laboratory. Ken worked at CPP for 34 years. He greatly enjoyed his work before retiring in 1986.

Active in the LDS Church, Ken and Myrt were involved in Spanish Extraction for eleven years. They served missions at the Family History Center for five years. Ken was also a faithful temple worker.

Ken maintained an immaculate home and yard. However, his greatest passion was his family! Even at an advanced age he was on social media where he enjoyed seeing photos of his family and keeping current on their activities.

Dad was kind and gentle. He loved watching sporting events, Johnny Carson and David Letterman while sitting in his favorite chair. For the past 60 years he successfully completed the daily crossword puzzle. He enjoyed answering the Jeopardy questions and solving the puzzles on Wheel of Fortune.

Although he will be greatly missed, we are comforted in knowing that Ken has now reunited with his eternal sweetheart Myrt, his parents, siblings, other family and friends.
